About Us

Our Story

BornGreat Healthcare & Research Laboratories Limited was incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria in 2017, built on founder Borngreat Paul Orizu's long-standing passion for excellent diagnosis in healthcare.

Borngreat Paul Orizu, our Managing Director, studied Electrical/Electronics Engineering before training as a network and systems engineer. In 2008, he joined a medical engineering company, where he trained across France, Belgium, Italy, China and Rome in hospital and laboratory instrumentation technology — hands-on experience with the same high-tech equipment used in modern diagnostic laboratories. After several years there, he set out on his own around 2012/2013 as an independent hospital and laboratory instrumentation engineer, working with private companies across the industry. That path led, in 2017, to the incorporation of BornGreat Healthcare & Research Laboratories.

The laboratory began in Surulere, Lagos, and has since relocated to its current home on Catholic Mission Street, beside Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church — still in Surulere, still serving the same community.

Our Board

BornGreat is guided by a board that brings together medical doctors, medical laboratory scientists, hospital and laboratory instrumentation engineers, business development experts, and medical biologists — a deliberate mix chosen to keep both the clinical and technical sides of diagnostic medicine represented at the top of the business.

What We Do

We run thirteen specialist departments covering haematology, chemical pathology, microbiology, serology, endocrinology, cytology, genetics and more — full detail on our Our Services page. Most routine haematology results are ready in as little as 10 minutes, and we offer home sample collection for clients who can't come to us.
